Frequently asked questions
Can I come for a trial session?
Absolutely, everyone is entitled to a free introductory ride. Book now!
Do I need to bring my own bike?
Not at all. Come in and jump on one of our state-of-the-art Adjustabikes.
Can I bring my own bike?
Yes you can, however our Adjustabikes eliminate the need to bring your own bike. They are used by pro riders and Olympic athletes. You will receive a quick fit by one of our trained coaches and off you go!
Do I need cycling shoes?
You can borrow shoes for your ride, just ask at reception. All of our bikes are fitted with Shimano pedals, so if your cycling shoes have Shimano cleats, feel free to bring your own.
Do you supply towels?
Yes, we’ll arrange a towel for you during your ride as well as for a shower after.
I’m new to cycling – will Athlete Lab be OK for me?
Definitely! We cater for everyone from beginner to elite athlete. We set the difficulty level for each rider independently (and you can change it mid ride if it is too easy or too tough!) Our rides are measured as a percentage of your own threshold power, so everyone can do the same workout no matter how experienced they are. Check out our Introduction to Athlete Lab to choose a ride that suits you.
What if I can’t make it to a ride I have booked?
The early cancellation period of 24 hours means you have the flexibility to cancel rides if you can no longer attend. Late cancellations will be subject to charges depending on the type of membership you have.
Can I park my bike at the Lab?
Yes, but only for the duration of your ride..
Do I have to commit to a long term membership contract?
Do you sell cycling kit?
Yes. Athlete Lab team kit is available to purchase in the lab.
Can I get 1-on-1 coaching?
Absolutely. We can tailor a bespoke program to help you ace your next race or Etape. Alternatively if you just want a private 1-on-1 session to clean up any technique issues we can help with that too. Just ask in the lab.
What are your opening hours?
We open at 6am and our last ride is at 6.30pm. Check out our schedule here.
Do you have changing rooms and showers?
Absolutely. We have both men’s and women’s changing rooms fully equipped with showers.
What is an FTP?
FTP stands for Functional Threshold Power and is basically the power you can hold for an hour. We use it to set our systems so that everyone gets the required intensity and training benefit from the set. Don’t worry we’ll explain more in the lab and we can book you into getting an FTP test done. Or book yours now here.
Do you offer Corporate Memberships?
Absolutely. Email us for more information.
My cleats aren’t Shimano. Can I bring my own pedals?
Yes. We can change the cleats if you bring your own pedals 15 minutes before your session.
